Located in the burgeoning Sprout mountain-top community, this design responds to our clients’ desire to appreciate dynamic mountain views from the quiet comfort of their modern mountain home.  Natural stone, gabled forms, and stained wood ground the home in the mountains, while low-sloped metal roofs and floor-to-ceiling glass on the view side lend it modern nuance.

Working with landscape architect Drake Fowler, we’ve optimized the site’s gentle cross slope to create a gradient of experience across the home.  The Owner’s Suite and Screened Porch are hugged with rhododendrons and denser plantings to offer the feel of a private outdoor room.  This dissolves into a mountain meadow as the grade falls, allowing for unobstructed, distant views of the mountains from the Great Room & Music Room.

The interior of the home is all about our Clients’ stated theme of ‘quiet luxury’.  We’ve collaborated with the interior design team at Duet Design Studio to develop a deeper, richer, and slightly darker palate.  Layered textures and some unexpected curves further reinforce the perfect mood for cooking, reading, and hi-fi music listening.
